Taishan city in Guangdong province is currently in the midst of its early-season rice harvest, with fields across the region buzzing with activity. Towns and villages are seizing the favorable weather to carry out harvesting operations in an orderly and efficient manner.

In Donglian village, Haiyan town, expansive high-standard farmland is filled with golden rice paddies ready for harvest. With full, heavy grain heads swaying in the breeze, harvesters move steadily through the fields, completing reaping, threshing, and loading in one streamlined process.

Haiyan town, one of Taishan's key grain-producing areas, has planted over 60,000 mu (around 4,000 hectares) of early rice this year. To ensure a smooth harvest, the town prepared more than 300 agricultural machines, including harvesters and dryers. It also adopted a collaborative model linking companies, cooperatives, family farms, and individual farmers, ensuring that both harvesting and post-harvest drying proceed efficiently.

Known as the "Hometown of Premium Simiao Rice," Taishan continues to prioritize grain production by promoting high-quality crop varieties, modern farming practices, and improved agricultural infrastructure—efforts aimed at strengthening food security and supporting sustainable agricultural development.
