Editor's Note: Beijing's KWM Art Center is currently hosting "Light Etchings," a solo exhibition featuring acclaimed photographer Michael Kenna's contemplative black-and-white landscapes hand-printed on silver gelatin.
The show captures Kenna's distinctive approach to capturing time and landscape through long-exposure photography, with some images requiring exposure times of several hours.
Kenna, born in the United Kingdom in 1953, is known internationally for his minimalist approach to landscape photography that emphasizes stillness and form.
His work moves beyond simple documentation to create what critics describe as visual meditations on space and existence.
The exhibition closes Aug. 9.
